1. What are the new concepts you have learned in nature and characteristics of minerals, physical properties of minerals, and silicates and non silicates minerals?

• The new concepts that I have learned are;

• The concept of hardness and how it helps to identify a mineral

• The difference between color and streak

2. What concepts you find too difficult to understand? And Why?

• I find complicated the orientation and number of planes of weakness within a mineral.

3. In what situation you may apply the new concepts you have learned?

• I can apply the Moh’s Scale of Hardness in determining if what mineral is the hardest among others.
