Plate Tectonics, Earthquakes and Volcanism Part 2
1. What are the new concepts you have learned in volcanoes, sources and types of magma, volcanic eruption predictions, classification of volcanoes and kinds of volcanoes and locations?
The new concepts that I have learned are;
That magma is different from lava
The different types of magma and kinds of volcanoes
2. What concepts you find too difficult to understand? And Why?
I find too difficult is the properties of each types of magma. There are terms that were so complicated that my head hurts when I hear it.
3. In what situation you may apply the new concepts you have learned?
Knowledge about volcanoes either it is active, dormant or extinct will help me in case I live near a volcano. The problem with volcanoes is that, though there may be similarities between volcanoes, every volcano behaves differently and has its own set of hazards. The information about the volcano allows us to make preparations that can reduce losses during an eruption.
