Rocks and Minerals Part 2

1. What are the new concepts you have learned in classes of rocks, physical properties of rocks, resources of metallic and non-metallic minerals and rock cycle?

The new concepts that I have learned are;

• The three classes of rocks and its different processes

• The main difference between streak and strain

• The transition of igneous to sedimentary and sedimentary to metamorphic and metamorphic back to igneous.

2. What concepts you find too difficult to understand? And Why?

• So far, I think I understand it well. This topic is very interesting.

3. In what situation you may apply the new concepts you have learned?

• In making many objects, such as plates, jewelry and toothpaste, we can apply our knowledge about rocks. When I build my own house in the future, for sure I will use rocks and each will have their specific properties that can help me choosing what type of rocks I will use.
